Accounts Payable Specialist
Lafayette, CO

If so KPA’s Accounts Payable Specialist position may be the perfect fit for you!

Position Description: The Accounts Payable Specialist performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions including:

Data entry of invoices
Reconciles and researches differences in vendor statements
Corresponds with vendors and respond to inquiries
Maintains vendor files with latest information (i.e. vendor addresses/phone numbers)
Reviews employee expense reports for accuracy, reasonableness and proper coding
Prepares reimbursement summary for payroll
Files accounts payable and general accounting documents
Keeps track of payment deadlines and sets up weekly check batches
Assembles checks and documents for distribution, mails as required
Assigns general ledger accounts for expense reports and invoices
Prepares bank reconciliation
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
Completes account reconciliations in timely manner and in accordance with month end closing schedule
Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards; Employees are required to record the beginning and ending times of any shift, meal break or departure from work for personal reasons
Upholds the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.
Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
Attends pertinent training on request
Attends company meetings as required
Other duties as assigned

Success Criteria:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
Minimum of 3 years related experience
Knowledge of general accounting procedures
Proficient in data entry and time management
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office –Excel, Word and Outlook)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy of work performed
Good communication skills both oral and written with the ability to effectively communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication

Ability to write clear, concise emails to request information
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on employee morale throughout the organization
