The collector is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of collection activity on assigned accounts, until they reach an appropriate resolution (ie, zero balance, etc.) Analyze and perform adjustments according to policy. Interface with the rest of the Patient Financial Services staff and others as needed. Work will be performed within the framework of the philosophy and policies established by St. Bernardine Medical Center. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine Medical CenterA?s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. Two years collection experience in an acute care setting OR two years directly related collection experience is required.Thorough knowledge of UB:92 billing required A: Basic knowledge of CPT4 and ICD:9 coding preferred A: Thorough knowledge of Managed Care contracts preferred A: Sharp analytical abilities required for identifying short pay accounts and problem resolution A: Personal computer (PC) skills required .
