Salary Range:62,700 : 83,600
This position will manage and oversee compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations and BNSF policy, as assigned by the Manager Environmental Operations. Environmental compliance experience in the areas of solid waste, hazardous and special waste, stormwater, wastewater, spill prevention control and countermeasures and air required.
Key Activities:
:Assisting with the submittal of time critical reports to various governmental agencies to document compliance.
:Deliver effective environmental training to a large number of work groups.
:Track environmental compliance using an environmental information system.
:Oversight of work performed by environmental contractors and consultants.
:Effectively manage project budgets, work orders and invoices.
:Participate and collaborate in a team environment to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
:Travel on the assigned territory is required, sometimes on short notice.

Basic Qualifications:
:Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in environmental science, engineering, biology or chemistry.
:Knowledge of the following environmental programs and regulations:
:SPCC, including limited spill response and mitigation
:Solid and Hazardous Waste
:Strong with verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualification:
:Professional license or certification
:3 to 5 years environmental experience, with a railroad or industrial organization
:Environmental experience in the state of California
Relocation:Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.
Travel: 50 of the time and must be willing to travel and work nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
