Under the direction of the site administrator, to function on call as needed as a substitute, on short term or long term assignments, at the Elementary, Middle School, and High School. The Substitute Teacher will be asked to report to work on an "as needed basis."

• Follow lesson plans effectively.
• Responsible for student growth and development.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to various family and cultural patterns in planning and following classroom activities.
• Maintain clean room environment.
• Work cooperatively with staff, support personnel, and parents to coordinate effective learning activities for students.
• Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom.
• Maintain standards of pupil behavior.
• Assist regular certificated personnel as needed.
• Act as a roving substitute to cover classrooms during I.E.P. meetings, or if regular classroom teachers have meetings.
• May be asked to cover one-quarter, half-day, or three-quarter day assignments, as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Computer literacy is desirable.

• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Plan, prepare, follow, and present lessons effectively.
• Maintain a climate conducive to student learning.
• Utilize classroom discipline and management strategies.
• Keep records that meet the needs of the student and teacher.
• Adhere to set school guidelines.

Requirements for Applying
• Bachelor’s of Art or Science
• A 30-day Substitute Teacher
• Bilingual - Spanish
• CSET if available
• CBEST if available
• CLAD or BCLAD if available

•Letter of intent
•Forward three current letters of recommendation, at least one from a supervisor; i.e. principal, vice principal.
•Submit a copy of your credential(s).
•Submit a copy of your transcripts.
•Finger print, TB, and drug screen clearance will be requested before hiring date.

$17.50 per hour
