Job Summary:
This position reports to the Senior Supervisor. The person in this position is responsible for all day to day activities within the VAS/Rework department. He or She must be able to split the time with a 90%floor management and support and 10% administrative.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the department performance and budget margin
• Responsible for the daily labor plan in order to maintain service and profitability
• Responsible for equipment planning and service to maintain a high level of up time
• Participate in the weekly volume planning meeting with the rework leadership team to ensure efficient and timely launch of all new projects
• Responsible to test projects weekly to ensure productivity rate is acceptable.
• Responsible to complete the assigned weekly volume goals
• Responsible to review daily progress and adjust capacity as needed without affecting the profitability
• Work with inventory Control to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Maintain an efficient flow and work sequence in all areas of the department (In / Production and Out) to optimize productivity
• Management of the daily communication with the staffing agency to ensure best candidates selection and labor needs are fulfilled timely.
• Must have a daily start-up meeting to address Safety, Daily goals, communication updates etc… with all team members
• Responsible for productivity daily review (with team members) and improvements initiatives.
• Responsible to address daily corrective action and/or training for all team members
• Ensures that all daily and weekly reports are sent out timely and accurately.
• Responsible for updating the department reporting matrix
• Responsible for the team safety communication, training and initiatives
• Ensuring production employees' compliance with all company policies, safety requirements and codes of conduct
• Responsible for maintaining daily Associates time-keeping accuracy in kronos
Job Related & Physical Requirements:
• Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish)
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock
• Physical strength to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Flexible work hours and schedules to support operations with possible week-end work
Experience, Education, and Training:
• High school diploma or GED with BA level preferred.
• Microsoft office proficiency, experience with Excel is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of PKMS warehouse management
• Must be self-motivated and work independently
• Strong communications skills; both verbal and written
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar position
• Strong Value added services experience necessary (folding, ticketing, promotional displays etc…)
• Ability to motivate and train staff.
• Experience with safety initiatives and OSHA training
• Must be detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to cross train in other areas of the distribution center
• Proficient mathematical skills with basic accounting a plus.
