Job Description:Position Summary: Assists in human resource activities within the Distribution Center by supporting the department s objectives. Provides advice, assistance and follow-up for associates in the Distribution Center on company policies, procedures and documentation. Coordinates the resolution of specific policy related and procedural issues and inquiries. Primary Responsibilities:Assists in human resource activities to include employment, compensation, associate relations, benefits and training.Reviews applications/resumes; interviews job applicants, processes associates through hiring process, administers physical abilities tests, extends offers and schedules for orientation. Facilitates new hire orientations.Maintains necessary documentation and files regarding Associates and their hours/payroll. Maintains confidentiality with all records and information.Prepares, processes and distributes payroll/paychecks.Communicates annual benefits open enrollment information and timeline and facilitates periodic benefits orientation meetings. Responds and follows up to questions as needed.Provides assistance, follow up and responds to questions regarding Leaves of Absence policies and applicable disability resources.Responds to questions, researches and investigates situations for associates relative to benefits and payroll.Provides advice, assistance and follow up on company policies and procedures, and documentation.Recommends, maintains and provides feedback related to human resource databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.Assists in the development and administration of associate related programs. (i.e. Wellness Programs, Safety Programs, Attendance Contests, AOM, Fundraising, Annual Recognition Banquet).Records and reports workplace injuries. Provides assistance and follow-up with injured associate and insurance carrier. Coordinates light duty assignments.Assists in conducting focus group meetings with associates and provide recap of results.Conducts exit interviews and attends unemployment hearings.Acts as HR representative on various committees.Acts as point person on special projects, as assigned.Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in HR.Working knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and PeopleSoft.
