We currently have an exciting opportunity working for our client who is seeking an energetic and results oriented Plant Operations Manager. The chosen candidate will serve as a key member of the Factory Management Team helping to build the culture of our plant located in Inland Empire region of California.
Scope:
The Plant Operations Manager will initially focus on the planning and the start:up of the 4 lines in a new facility. This requires a thorough understanding of the end game and mapping out the requirements to achieving such. The Plant Operations Manager will have to be poised to change the culture from a high labor/low automation to one of low labor/high automation. As such there will be a constant need to evaluate employees, recruit and train new ones to create the best workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities:

:Be a proactive and Key participant in the factory Management Team;
:Verify and ensure the implementation of a formal training program for all critical / skilled positions throughout the production area. Proceed with a train the trainer type of program to ensure ongoing training for existing and new employees;
:To ensure that the production supervisors are effectively coordinating the activities in both the processing and packaging areas to ensure the manufacturing standards are being obtained in the areas of product yield, labor cost per bar, customer service, and quality;
:Actively solicit, develop, and execute cost saving initiatives as outlined in the manufacturing goals with the assistance of the Director of Engineering and Continuous Improvement;
:Work closely with R/D Support to ensure timely line testing of new products. Develop best practices in go forward manufacturing of new item;
:Actively participate and enforce all safety related policies and become an active member of the in:house safety committee;
:To maintain and monitor a program of Regulatory Agency Compliance for FDA, OSHA, and respective State of California Standards;
:To effectively maintain a non:unionized workforce through the enforcement of Company work rules and policies and with open two way communications;
:Prepare job descriptions and standards of performance for all subordinates
:To perform any other duty as deemed appropriate by the site Senior Director of Operations;
:Comply and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices;
:Adherence to policies and procedures for GMPs, Food Safety, Security and Safety;
:Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by Director of Mfg;
:Support the factory director in setting clear goals for the ramp:up of the 4 lines and coordinating with other department heads to ensure all actions are aligned and delivered;
:Provide a growth vision organization ahead of volume requirement;
:Identify the weak members of the organization and set plans to replace them;
:Communicate effectively the goals to all stakeholders;
:Anticipating change, putting plans in place ahead of time and providing secondary plans to ensure clients are properly serviced;
:Ensure training programs are documented and available for new employees;
:Ensure centerlining is effectively and constantly documented and adhered to;
:Maintained the production and support areas orderly and clean at all time;
:Understand fully the capabilities of the equipment and continuously strive to drive performance till the bottle next is the limiting factor. Then work at eliminating the latter through appropriate payback investment proposal to continue driving performance.

Qualifications and Experience:
:Bachelors Degree or equivalent;
:Experience in food production plant operations;
:Proficient with general business and manufacturing software, including MS Office;
:Proficient understanding of budgeting and cost control;
:Proven track record of improved results in the area of throughput efficiency, quality, safety, service, cost and productivity;
:Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP processes. Exper
